January at Roundway Hill
Well hello!
Welcome to my monthly ramble through all that’s happening at our sustainable gifting business at the foot of the historic Roundway Hill in beautiful Wiltshire. I hope you’ll join me each month for stories about what we get up to here, team shenanigans, the amazing nature and wildlife that surround us, and a little about our business.
After a busy Christmas, it’s been an interesting and hectic start to the year. Being a small rural business in the glorious Wiltshire countryside means we’re often at the mercy of the weather. Like most of the UK, we’ve been battered by wind, rain and floods, resulting in the narrow winding lanes around the hill becoming inaccessible and only the bravest and most local of us making it into work. All we can do is lean into it, hunker down and use the time to quietly reboot and recalibrate. Despite that, I've had a productive few weeks reworking some of our existing gift boxes and looking for beautiful things to add. It's absolutely my favourite part of the job!
As well as getting a few business balls rolling, January is a time for me to set intentions for the year ahead, my focus this year will be wellbeing, yours and of course, my own, finding the balance between working hard and essential self-care. It's hard to switch off when you love what you do, but creating space really helps me be more creative. If I've learnt anything from 2023 it's that I must find time to just be, be in nature, be present and take a step back to breathe in my surroundings, which after all, is the source of all my inspiration.
It’s a bright winters day here, the sun is out and the glittering morning frost is slowly melting, with snow maybe on its way! It'll be a great excuse to treat myself to a Cozy Night Gift Set. I know one thing, the view from our workshop window will be absolutely stunning, whatever the weather.
See you next month!
